Achievements & Awards
Observers of the progress of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia may become
astonished to see the dramatic comprehensive development which has been achieved
during a relatively short period of time compared to the time taken by other
nations to realize the same. The outstanding growth witnessed by the Kingdom
since Imam Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud laid the foundation stone,
followed by his faithful sons who adopted the same methodology that depended on
the holly Koran and Prophet’s sayings. The development in all social, political
and cultural aspects was something that resembled a miracle. One of the reasons
of these splendid achievements was the appropriate selection of the right man in
the right position in all level of management of affairs of the Kingdom, whether
at minister level or governors or administrative officials. Al-Amir Muhammad Bin
Ahmed Al Sadairi was one of those selected men.
Since his early youth, Al-Amir Muhammad Bin Ahmed Al Sudairy took over the
principality of Al – Joaf while he was under 25 years of age. Due to the
virtuous upbringing and his unique qualities, he was able to shoulder the
administration responsibilities assigned to him, deriving the reasons of his
success from the High Authorities trust in him, from his deep perception an
knowledge of the requirements of the responsibilities he is shouldering, from
his right selection on his executives and from the thorough awareness of the
citizens mentally and needs in various stages. He blended all these qualities
with his deep-rooted human virtue that formed all his leadership and
administrative skills. His upbringings in a pure Islamic and Arabic environment
enabled him to acquire this physiognomy and outstanding ability to evacuate men
and to deal with them. This physiognomy might have helped him to succeed in all
matters handled by him.
Based on the above, we conclude herein the most important achievements of
Al-Amir Muhammad Bin Ahmed Al Sidairi:-
• In Ramadan 1357H Al-Amir Mohammad Al Sudairy was appointed as Governor
of Al – Joaf which he took when his age was less than 25 years. He started to
implement the development of Al- Joaf and solving the region problems
establishing the interrelations between tribes and strengthening their relations
with the state. He published a book on Al Joaf called ( Al Joaf- The Valley of
Al Nafakh).
• In 1364H he was transferred to Jizan Emirates. One of his main
achievements in Jizan is that he established the Fresh water project.
• One of the big cultural achievements is his supervision of the
Festival that was organized on the occasion of the return of King Abdul Aziz
from Egypt on 2/3/1364H after he had met the American President Franklin
Roosevelt and the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Many of the famous
poets and scholars participated in that Festival.
• He resolved the problem of Wadi Bin Abdullah. The water of this
valley ran during the rain season to both Saudi and Yemeni lands. The Yemeni
side believed that the branch of the said valley that runs into Saudi land was a
new one and they tried to divert it from its way. With effort of Al-Amir
Muhammad Bin Ahmed Al Sidairi the problem solved in such a way satisfied both
parties.
• In 1367H King Abdul Aziz asked Al-Amir Muhammad Al Sidairi to offer
on his behalf condolences on the demise of the father of Imam Ahmed Hameeduddin.
During his trip in Yemen he was welcomed throughout his way as Yemeni people
held him in great esteem.
• In 1368H appointed as a commander of the Jihad forces for the sake of
Palestine. The number of Jihad fighters reached 5,000 divided into four
brigades. However due to complexities and complications of the international and
Arab politics, the Jihad forces were not able to enter Palestine as some
neighboring countries refused the entry of any Arabic army through their
lands.
• In 1/9/1369 Al-Amir Muhammad Bin Ahmed Al Sidairi was appointed as a
Governer of the Governate of the Pipeline. The main reason of establishment of
the pipeline was to develop transportation means of the crude oil. The
construction work of the pipeline in the Saudi section was completed in 1948;
work in Lebanese section was delayed until 1950. The construction of the
pipeline project was accompanied by the development of the Northern Boarder
Region which Al-Amir Muhammad Al Sidairi played an essential role in this
development.
• On 21/10/1379H King Hussein of Jordan awarded Al-Amir Muhammad Bin
Ahmed AL Sidairi the Independence Medal, class 1.
• During the period 1374H to 1376, Yemen witnessed internal riots and
consequently Al-Amir Muhamed Bin Ahmed AL Sudairy was appointed in 1382 as a
Supervisor of the Southern Boarders in Jizan Region. He dealt with the events in
Yemen wisely and flexibly. This decreased the deterioration of the situation and
maintained the security of the region.
• During the period he worked as a Supervisor of the Southern Region he
realized some important achievement in the region such as: Financing the project
of electric power supply to Abi -Areesh City at his own expenses, Financing
drilling of artesian wells in Abi –Areesh and water supply to the houses in need
of this service, he helped in paving the first modern road from Jizan to Abi
Areesh.,the project of Jizan Valley Dam which was opened by King Fahad bin Abdul
Aziz( Minister of Interior then) in 1391H, solved the problem of the convicted
people exiled to Farasan Island.
• Al-Amir Mohammad Al Sidairi was concerned of the protection of the
environment and natural life, and in appreciation of these principles, The
Government of Saudi Arabia established a program of Environment conservation,
under the name of “Al-Amir Muhammad Bin Ahmed Al Sidairi Center of Environment
Conservation).
• In 1404 his first Divan (collection of poems) was published, and in
1414 the second one was published.
• He also published two books, “the Red Tear”, & “Heroes of the
Desert”.
