Prince Muhammad Bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy descends from a deep-rooted noble tribe,
namely Al Al-Sudairy from Al-Dawasir who is a sept of Al-Azd that
immigrated from Ma’rib, Yemen, to other regions of the Arabian Peninsula such as
the present-day Wadi Al-Dawasir in Saudi Arabia.
One of Al-Dawasir septs is Al-wadda’ein who are moieties that descend
from: Ghanim bin Naser bin Wada’an bin Salim bin Zayed bin Ziad bin Salim
bin Wida’ah bin Amr bin A’amir. One of the branches of the above-mentioned Zayed
is Al-Badarin, the descendants of Badran bin Salim. Al-Badarin divide into
moieties of which Al-Sadara, as quoted by some references or Al-sadari or Al
Al-Sudairy, are the most famous. They are the descendants of: Ahmed bin Salman
bin Fouzan bin Turki bin Abdulmohsin bin Muhammad bin Khalid bin Ahmed Bin Farij
bin Nasir bin Abdullah bin Mulhim bin Hussain bin Abdulwahab bin A’amir bin
Siwayed bin Salman bin Mohsin bin Zaid Bin A’amir Ghalib bin Mohsin BinJawad bin
Sadari bin Shakir bin Hajal bin Moshgei bin Hamdan bin A’ayed bin Badr bin
Khamis bin A’amir bin Badran bin Salim bin Zayed bin Salim bin Ziad bin Salim
bin Wida’ah bin Amr bin A’amir bin Haritha bin Emrei Algais bin Thalaba bin
Mar’ib bin Alazd bin Alghoth bin Malik bin Nabit bin Malik bin Zaid bin Kahlan
bin Saba bin Yashgob bin Yarob bin Gahtan bin Hood (PBUH). This is the most
famous narrative about Al Al-Sudairy’s ancestry. Some references quoted minor
differences due to reliance of old historian on verbal narrative. However, most
references agree on the above-mentioned ancestral line.
It is noted that the ancestors of Al Al-Sudairy used the name; Zaid, Zayed
and Aa’mir. This interpreted why Prince Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy titled one
of his poetic folk epics as “Al Zayediah”. It is also noted
that at least two of his ancestors were named “Sidair”, the name which was given
to Wadi Al-Fagi in Al-Dawasir after being captured by Sidair bin Aa’mir during
the sovereignty of his father on Wadi Al-Dawasir and Al-Ageeg. Later more than
one name of Al Al-Sudairy became famous. Examples are:
· Badran bin
Salim bin Zayed, to whom Al-Badarin belong.
· Aa’mir bin Ziya who
dominated and controlled Wadi Al-Dawasir and its neighbourhood in 780H.
· Sidair bin Aa’mir, whose name was given to Wadi Al-Fagi. Al Sidair
branched from him.
· Moshgei, from whom moieties branched in Oman.
· Sulaiman, from whom Al Al-Sudairy, the family of Prince Muhammad bin
Ahmed Al-Sudairy descend.
The father of Prince Muhammad was a prominent figure during the era of
King Abdulaziz Al_Saud. He was contemporary with the beginning of
establishment of the Third Saudi State. King Abdulziz appointed him as one of
his administrative governors, this in addition to his affinity and kinship with
King Abdulaziz. Prince Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy, the father of
our biographee, is the father of Princess Hissa bint Ahmed Al-Sudairy, the
mother of King Fahd and his full brothers. Al-Amira Hissa Bint Ahmed Alsudairy
expected all her children and brothers to stay with her if they are in town. She
was a great woman called: Umm Fahd , the name of her elder son, King Fahd. We
all used to go to her house, the King, my father, my uncles, my aunts and their
children. It was a daily uninterrupted big gathering. Umm Fahd was a strong
respected personality whose characters of strength mix with her feelings of love
and kindness.
Prince Ahmed Al-Sudairy was also the father of Princess
Sultana Al-Sudairy, the mother of Prince & poet Abdullah Al-Faisal.
